An animal park in Ille-et-Vilaine
The Bourbansais Zoo is located in Pleugueneuc, a 35-minute drive from the Ille et Vilaine campsite, covering a distance of approximately 40 kilometers. Spanning 10 hectares, it is home to 400 animals, allowing visitors to observe them up close. Zoological parks serve as a haven for animals, and zoo caretakers put every effort into protecting them.
The Bourbansais Zoo organizes various shows and activities, offering a great opportunity to learn more about animal life.
Up Close with Animals at the Bourbansais Zoo
The animals at the Bourbansais Zoo represent 80 different species from all corners of the globe.
You will find animals from the savannah: lions, zebras, tigers, giraffes… as well as camels, lynxes, wolves, various species of monkeys, kangaroos, caribou…
In the skies, the zoo is home to multicolored birds, from parrots to flamingos, pelicans, and birds of prey. About fifty observation towers have been set up to allow visitors to watch the animals without disturbing them.
The Bourbansais is more than just a zoo; the estate also includes a castle and gardens to explore. Stroll through the castle, admiring its decor, 18th-century furniture, and curiosities, and enjoy guided tours of the gardens, focusing on the vegetable garden and the history of various plants. Discover the many residents of the zoological park, animal species from all continents—from felines to reptiles and aquarium animals. Many endangered species and other wildlife represent the vast diversity of the world's fauna.
For dining during your visit, the restaurant La Palmeraie is available, nestled in the shade of the park's trees.
Children can enjoy inflatable games available from April to September.
During the summer, a plant maze awaits the whole family.
A snack bar serving treats and pastries is located in front of the play area, perfect for satisfying a craving during your zoo visit.
